My teachers have been idols in my life since I was a little girl. Especially my 6th grade teacher. She made me feel welcome and loved, and her impact on me made me want to pass the love along. My dream career is teaching 5th grade, but I would love to be any type of teacher, or counselor. I am the oldest of 4 kids, so I have been pushed to be a leader and a role model throughout my life. I would especially love to teach little kids because I feel such a close bond to them, and I want to leave an impact, similar to the one that was left on me. I have taken many classes focused on Elementary Ed to help me prepare for a future in education. Some examples are: Child Development, Teaching as a Profession 1, 2, and 3, and Peer Tutor. I am currently working in a 4th grade classroom as an intern. I help plan lessons, manage the classroom, and lead a guided reading group. I have also taught a preschool class, which helped me learn a lot of valuable classroom management skills. My ultimate goal in life is to be a 5th grade teacher at a public school. I am so excited to get to know my students, teach my own lessons, and decorate my classroom. I would love to work as a teacher for the rest of my life. To get there, I am going to go to SUU to get my Associates, then to UVU to get my Early Education degree.
