About Addison Ihler
I have been a dancer my whole life. After tearing both of my meniscus and getting double knee surgery, hours of physical therapy, recovery, and athletic training have inspired my interest in physical therapy and athletic training careers. I have taken many classes, some college level, relating to the health science career pathway including: sports medicine, medical anatomy, health, and health science. I am in AP Spanish. I'm also a member of Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) am excited to continue my experience as I start my physical therapy internship.In the future I plan to attend a university and get a degree in exercise science, then continue schooling to become an Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist.

At Empower Dance Academy, I get the unique opportunity to train and teach young dancers many different styles of dance including: Jazz Technique, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz Funk, and even Pilates. Each week, I take the time to create lesson plans to increase the dancer's flexibility, strength, technique, and style, then I implement and execute those plans throughout the week as I watch them train and do what they love most! Choreography is one of my favorite parts of this job. I get the chance to choreograph Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Contemporary group dances and solos for the dancers to both push their physical skills, and choreography skills as well!After assessing the dancer's current skills this last year, I decided they were in need of convenient, supplemental, technique training outside of their regular, weekly dance hours. I created a program called "Power Hour[s]" with two other teachers in order to fulfill this need in Empower's Dancers. Every other Saturday morning, the girls show up at 8am ready to work hard and improve their dance skills. For the next two hours I have them engage in significant conditioning and pilates, new and advanced jumps and tricks, as well as advanced turns. Through this program, I have seen significant improvements in the dancer's talent, and im im ecstatic for the opportunity to continue Power Hour[s] and teaching at Empower.
