Working with industry clients to understand the implications of developing policy and governance practices upon their technology oriented business and with government and institutional clients to understand emerging technologies and the implications upon domestic and global policy positions

Alexi Drew is a senior analyst in Defence, Security, and Infrastructure at RAND Europe. She has previously held positions at The Policy Institute (King's College London), the Centre for Science and Security Studies (CSSS) at King’s, and the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET). Her work focuses upon emerging technologies, the international norms surrounding them, and their impact upon international relations and geopolitics. Alexi is a member of the Women in International Security (WIIS) UK Chapter’s Leadership team and also a mentor for Girl Security.She has a specific interest in information operations, platform governance, arms control, algorithmic power, cyber security, and artificial intelligence. She blames her career path on too much Star Trek while growing up.

Delivering an MA module in Cyber Security to students on the Erasmus Mundus International Master of Security, Intelligence & Strategic Studies (IMSISS) programme. Taught with colleagues from Charles University (Czech Republic), University of Glasgow (UK) and Dublin City University (Ireland).

Responsible for the module War and Security in World Politics; including module design, assessment design, marking, administration, and pastoral care.This module covers theoretical and practical assessment of military history, tactics, and philosophies and is taught through through lectures and tutor led seminars.

Seminar leader and teaching assistant on three modules; War and Security in Modern Politics - A second year undergraduate module focussing on the theoretical approaches to conflict historically and in the modern arena, as well as addressing modern, contextual problems of analysing and understanding war and conflict.As part of this course I am also responsible for designing and delivering the lecture and seminars on cyber security. This involves lecture planning, material creation, seminar activity planning and execution, and resource/source material suggestion.International Political Economy - A second year undergraduate module seeking to inform on the theories of economic international interaction and the application of political power and principles. This module includes the subjects of basic contrasting theories of political economy such as economic nationalism and economic liberalism, as well applying these theories to particular policy and legislative issues.As part of teaching this module I have also given the lectures on two occasions, covering both Economic Security and Economic Liberalism.Introduction to International Relations - This is a first year undergraduate module aimed at imparting the basics of international relations theory and methodologies. It also aims to inspire students to begin applying these theories and methods of analysis to contemporary problems while undertaking to contextualise the historical and political developments that have so far shaped the field of International Relations.Additionally to running seminars for each of these modules and liaising with other teaching assistants and module conveners this role includes the responsibility for marking essays, critiques and presentations of a portion of the students taking the modules, as well as administrative responsibilities in ensuring that students can progress with the course aims.

As part of the teaching for a module titled International Political Economy prepared and presented the lecture material for Economic Liberalism and Economic Security to second year undergraduates.

Worked directly for the University and for Outreach programs both on and off campus with the aim of encouraging the next generation of students to aim towards entering higher education.This work included educational talks delivered on a range of subjects from finance to student life and specific university courses and working on taster events and open days for prospective University students.

Took part in training exercises in a military setting both in classroom and in field activities. Was responsible for the training and supervision of newer recruits including periods of command responsibility over 7 other officer cadets in carrying out military goals and training objectives.
