My original goal for joining WSA was to gain an understanding of how a large player in an industry might be able to manage risks, mergers, and global pitfalls while maintaining vertical integration. However as my time went on I realized that this company serves better as a guide for me to gather knowledge of how to coordinate across multiple markets, regions, cultural differences, and competence levels. My primary project involved being the marketing automation automation expert for the US Retail market. For the first 3 months of the project, I was able to hone my skills in strategic planning, understanding current customer needs, and stakeholder management. After the initial months of the project, my main tasks shifted to advice and promote roll-out/hypercare in other market and switching to a wholesale (B2B/B2B2C) focus. LadyGuide was founded at the HackForGirls Hackathon in 2017. My team and I developed an app for easy reassurance to girls in East Africa and beyond who are unsure of their bodies.
