Develop backend services for a mobile application ofr Kroger. Developed and maintains a restful webservice written in Java 8 & Kotlin that operates in a microservice architecture. Developed and maintains a kafka consumer written in Java 8 of real time data that is stored in a Cassandra database that reaches peak loads of near 400 messages / second. Developed and maintains two other Java 8 kafka consumers that ingest data from a third party into other Cassandra tables.Works in a team of 7 developers & testers in an agile scrum team to deliver MVP product. Regularly works with other teams to flesh out requirements and meet performance metrics of the system.

Leads Front-end Development of cloud based web services for SBIR contracts using Javascript, Bootstrap, D3 and AngularJS. Assists with development of the backend, written in a mix of Grails, Springboot, Java, and Groovy. Leads in automating builds of the cloud software using gradle, npm, and gulp. Automated the deployment of the cloud services to our internal Openstack cloud using Jenkins and Ansible.Leads a team of 3 developers in an SBIR project to develop an Android application and a cloud based service to use in a specialized network environment. Manages a Jira board for the project tasks. Implemented code quality practices such as code reviews and regular testing.Support demos to clients every couple months. Travels to client sites occasionally to support week long testing and demonstrations.

Developed and maintained RESTful micro-service web services in a team environment. The architectures of these web services ranged from a Java 1.7 web app using Hibernate as a persistence layer, to a Groovy on Grails application, to a Spring Boot powered service. Each web app was continuously deployed to a staging environment for test through GitHub hooks. Developed front end JavaScript user interfaces that were backed by the web services. Used available JavaScript libraries including backbone, underscore, handlebars and requireJS. Helped my team deliver a prototype back end and front end of a system for Inspire, Lexmark Enterprise Software's user conference. Worked with my team to rapidly deliver weekly demonstrable milestones leading up to the event.

Code written on the Groovy on Grails platform with an extensive automated test suite written in Groovy driven by Gradle. Investigate and prototype adding in auto-generated API documentation using Swagger.Helped replace an in house Java persistence layer with Spring Data / JPA / Hibernate layer using modern coding practices in a 10 year old code base. Significantly improved the web application's performance compared to old persistence layer.

Wrote low level embedded firmware code for printers in C. Designed and implement method to dynamically add interactive GUIs to internal java debugging application.
