Research on developing ultra-thin, fast and efficient optomechanically tunable metasurfaces. I am involved in multi-modal engineering of silicon and silicon nitride based nano-particles for the metasurface, setting up multi-physics COMSOL simulation to analyze thermal, mechanical and optical effects of light on the metasurface, nano-fabrication of the metasurface devices, implementation of optical setup as test bed to characterize the developed optomechanical metasurfaces, data acquisition and analysis in MATLAB and Python, result dissemination and report writing. In addition, I also provide numerical simulation and fabrication support to the research group and train new PhD students.

Goal of my PhD research was to develop low powered, fast and compact tunable metasurfaces with emphasis on metalenses.

Research on manipulation of light through plasmonic effects with integrated components. My key responsibilities included modelling and numerical analysis of plasmonic nano-antennas and waveguides using COMSOL, fabrication of the plasmonic devices using E-Beam Lithography (EBL), surface characterization of the nano-devices with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and profilometer, setting up optical setup for characterization of plasmonic nano-devices
