Worked on International Business Growth platform, for Wal-Mart, as an architect/developer; completed the initial phase of development of an MVP. I was leading the back-end team, of 4 developers.

Responsible for making high-level design decision and sets technical standards; apart from that, leading the development of procurement document exchange platform and logistics solution – that includes: capacity planning and routing module. The systems are being designed in a modular fashion – with security, performance, scalability, and integration in mind, right from the very start.Other responsibilities include: domain design, architecture, coding, code review and code refactoring.

Lead the development of procurement document exchange platform in order to provide bespoke solutions to our customers. Primary responsibilities were, application design, coding, code review, code refactoring and continuous code inspection; also participating in domain design and architecture. A part from that also lead the development of TMS capacity planning and routing module, to integrate with the document exchange services, to further facilitate our customers with their logistic needs.

And as a developer, my responsibilities were, developing web and business components, driving the adoption of TDD, reviewing and continuously inspecting code, and supervising my juniors.

Responsibilities were to, add new features/enhance features, refactoring the legacy code, or possibly bringing that in the new code base. For the first time, I had a taste of Extreme Programming, and since then I love most of the XP practices, if not all. Further, we wrote unit tests and integration tests, to provide an adequate code coverage, and also practiced peer code reviewing.

Worked on code generation tool that suppose to generate web application skeleton for insurance and banking domain. Successfully, drove the adoption of “better, faster, and lighter” Java in the team. Some of my tasks were customizing JSF components, cross-browser compatibility, developing business components, integrating validation framework (client-side + server-side) and provide new validation functionalities.

Pakistan

Designed and developed, Biomaterial Tracking & Management System, a J2EE web application. The system was a research tool for tracking information on patients' comprehensive clinical information and their fully annotated samples. It consists of several sub-systems. I was fully responsible for requirement gathering, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and documenting the application.
