Collaborated with Product Management, Frontend, and Backend engineer team members to deliver an all new Perksy infrastructure with high levels of availability and predictability for our clients. Some of my achievements include:1.) Utilizing Terraform to deploy Perksy's React based frontend to AWS ECS with the use of gitlab, vault, and AWS ECR.2.) Learned Kotlin to work with Backend engineers to contribute to create Perksy's new distributed backend api based around vert.x and kubernetes.3.) Deployed Perksy's new static landing page as a highly available and fault tolerant application with the use of AWS Cloudfront, AWS S3, and AWS SNS. 4.) Setup instant GraphQL endpoint using Postgraphile and AWS Lambda.5.) Created a golang chatbot that allowed all contact form inquiries to be posted in slack and email.6.) With the use of React and AWS Lambda, created covid-19 static landing page to generate leads.

Spotify’s Blueprints initiative was a development portal for all developers at Spotify to spin up GCP infrastructure with no code.1.) Using React rewrote the Development Portal UI to provide logic for CloudSQL deployments.2.) Integrated Google analytics to Blueprints in order to improve UI to get users to create GCP resources 20% faster.3.) Employed React Hooks/State to automate namespace creation for deployment ready kubernete yaml files.

Clear is a biometrics technology company that lets travelers skip through the airport security and identification process. Some of my accomplishments include:1.) Employing Java 15 to create an api that mapped scans from Clear kiosk to user enrollment data .2.) Migrating all repos from AWS Codepipeline to github actions to improve ci/cd experience.3.) Utilized dropwizard in connection with AWS SDK to update user enrollments in AWS DynamoDB.4.) Wrote JUnit tests for parts of the Enrollment Service that lacked tests.5.) Integrated Splunk logging with microservices deployed to AWS ECS.6.) Created state machine engine in java that served as the backbone for the Enrollment microservice

Some of my acheievements include:1.) Used a HapiJs backend, React frontend, and Kubernetes to develop a value maximizer MVP for a large biomedical firm.2.) Utilized Golang, Nodejs, Terraform, and Ansible to create a sync tool that streamed uploads from Box to AWS S3.3.) Integrated Okta with AWS Cognito to handle firmwide authentication and authorization to AWS hosted data lake.

With the use of Scala, I began my foray into functional programming by assisting in the development of Everforth's Cloud application called Prefer Cloud. Some of my accomplishments include: Led development of fault-tolerant microservices in Java (deployed in Docker containers) to pull financial data from Thomson Reuters and GaiTame, used by a fintech startup for financial forecasting. Assisted in the development of automated tests using ScalaTest. Designed a text-graph based web app using Scala to assist HR in monitoring employee/partner participation in work chats. Developed a log searching app using Scala and Play to pull logs from AWS and mask personal information from results.Planned, designed, and developed a Scala-based module to mask production database data and upload to a Docker repo.Collaborated with Rakuten’s Mobile Payment Group to assist in api development using JavaEE to integrate Rakuten’s Card service platform to its Mobile Payment app called Rakuten Pay

On a project by project basis, I worked with Fusion System's software solutions team in the development of web applications that utilize java frameworks such as Spring MVC and Hibernate in an Agile development environment. Some of my accomplishments include:Wrote new features using Spring, jQuery, HTML/CSS for CMS applications including ability to perform email search, pull statistics from AWS cloud watch, and set reservation time slots. This resulted in allowing L1 support staff for the client to handle problems instead of developers.Contributed to a Spring MVC web app built for a chain restaurant to manage hiring, reservations, seating, and seating time calculations. Updated test code within reservation system to ensure an errorless service layer during data migration from MongoDB to MySQL. This resulted in the chain restaurant streamlining their hiring practices by making everything digital and decreased wait time for customers visiting the restaurant.

Assisted in the development and maintenance of Java-based tools that analyze Genomic information. As an application developer within Tohoku University's Medical Megabank Organization, I worked with professors to provided high quality genomic information based on the Japanese population. This information is a type of "Big Data" ran on a super computers that would be used to help create preventive medicines for people who live in the Tohoku region.Java-Based tools that I have contributed to:SUGAR: A quality control and filtering analysis for DNA that provided a heatmap GUI. - Within this project I refactored the code as well as added new functionalities which improved accuracy of filtered data by allowing researchers to make pure data sets with little to no corruption.Database Extractor: A tool that turned bam files to vcf.- Within this tool I was the sole architect that designed the overall software specifications. This tool allowed researchers to take DNA sequenced data and make it human readable.

Working within a Sendai-based Consulting firm, my responsibilities included managing Apache/Tomcat servers, setting up MySQL databases, and developing Java based applications. As well as, creating e-learning sites ran under google app scripts.

Selected to participate as the only non-Japanese English teacher at a public junior high and two public elementary schools in Japan’s largest cultural exchange program (JET), run by three Japanese government ministriesI planned and executed English language lessons with Japanese teachers for about twenty classes per week. As well as, created a model English curriculum for 1st- 4th grade classes used in nine elementary schools. Outside of class, I presented four original workshops on living and teaching in Japan at two JET Programme conferences. Coached three 1st place, two 2nd place and two 3rd place finishers in the Sendai English Speech Contest.
