I am currently employed on a casual basis, but previously worked 5 years in a full-time role. I have worked at Epworth Geelong since it opened in July 2016, where until March 2017, I was the only full-time AHA in the hospital. I have worked in hospital inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient medical acute and outpatient rehabilitation, supporting numerous areas of allied health including occupational therapy, dietetics, exercise physiology, social work, speech pathology, psychology and physiotherapy. I predominantly worked in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation assisting the physiotherapy department in facilitating 1:1 and group based therapy sessions. More specifically, my role has included, but is not limited to:• Directly assisting in the provision of therapeutic procedures and activities in a group and/or individual setting, including:- Inpatient Physiotherapy- neurological, orthopaedic, reconditioning exercise sessions; - Outpatient Physiotherapy- orthopaedic, falls and balance, cardiac and Parkinson’s rehabilitation programs and hydrotherapy - Inpatient Occupational therapy - pain management relaxation, breakfast group, light-meal and domestic living preparation, upper-limb therapy, brain training (cognitive and memory exercises);- Speech Therapy- 1:1 Reading and writing activities, including iPad programs• Supervision and training of AHA staff;• Assist in developing procedures and processes for allied health department, specifically, developing AHA roles and responsibilities. • Sourcing and ordering clinical and administrative allied health equipment through ‘Technology One’ system;• General administration tasks, including ‘Medical File’ and ‘BOSSnet’ entries and weekly cleaning responsibilities.

Independently providing therapy to clients 13 years or above with disabilities under National Disability Insurance Scheme in home and community-based settings. Role includes, but is not limited to: • Implementing client therapy programs as prescribed by the lead therapist- Physiotherapy: Completing 1:1 exercise and hydrotherapy programs in home and community-based settings- Occupational therapy: Implementing daily living skills programs. E.g., learning how to cook, maintaining the household, and managing finances. Assisting setup and training of therapy and rehabilitation equipment (e.g., mobility scooter training)- Speech therapy: Assisting clients to learn how to use communication devices (e.g. Proloquo2Go) and implementing therapy through written and verbal programs.• Managing my own bookings and invoicing for services and travel through ‘Halaxy Programming’ • Completing clinical notes for each session and submitting to centralised database (Halaxy)• Regularly reporting client progress and updates to clinicians to assist clinicians to determine adjustments to programs

120 hour Health Promotion PlacementDevelopment of teamwork and communicating skills:• Working with supervisor, Healthy Together Geelong team members, schools including teachers, parents and students and council traffic engineering teams to assist with program planning, implementation and evaluation of the safe active travel routes to school program.• Assist supervisor to identify potential safe active travel routes and evaluate the safety of the routes with assistance from traffic engineers. • Assist supervisor and other team members to present programs to schools, staff and students to become involved in the initiative.Evaluation and research skills:• Developing pre and post surveys for baseline, post 1 month and 6-month evaluation. • Critically analyse and interpret quantitate and qualitative data from pre and post data to report on programs effectiveness. Event/launch coordination and project managing skills;• In charge of safe active travel route launches for several schools in the Geelong region.• Responsible for organising resources needed for the launch events, including purchasing of cycling vests, chalk, food and beverage catering; ensuring to stay within budget and ordering from the healthy catering guide. • Continually communicating with schools, ensuring they are on task, assisting with preparation and promotion of launch and assisting the school on the day of the launch.
