As Head of Curriculum Music I have had the responsibility of leading the department through the transition from Queensland’s OP system to the introduction of the new QCE certificate and ATAR. Through this significant period of change I have led the rewrite of our work program from 7-12, assisted the school with the roll out of a new LMS (schoolbox) as the ‘Champion’ for the Creative Arts Faculty, developed remote learning resources and provided support to my team.

As part of this role I was given the opportunity to develop a new unit of work developing students enterprise skills. Combining the community service philosophy of the school with education on business models, entrepreneurial thinking, pitching and idea generation was exciting and rewarding.

As an experienced Curriculum Music teacher I have taught across all year levels and I have relished the innovative and contemporary approach to Curriculum Music education that Grammar provides. My focus has been to increase students' creative confidence, encouraging them to go beyond their preferred genre/instrument/mode of creating.
