From the tender age of 14 I entered the catering industry working as a catering assistant in Woolworths firstly in the cafeteria then onto the kitchen helping to serve in the staff canteen. On leaving School I gained an apprenticeship with the HCITB completing my City & Guilds 701.After returning to the workplace after raising children I then worked in various food establishments in either front or back of house roles, working up to Head Catering Assistant in 2002 with Star Catering.I felt the time was right to take my knowledge and experience to open my own business within the retail sector running a convenience and Off licence store. This was a successful enterprise, which I started up and grew until I felt I needed to spend more time with my family and sold the business on.After taking a part time position with Compass I found myself naturally progressing through the team to take the job role of assistant manager of a fast paced staff canteen with an annual turnover of £150,000.After 5 years producing buffets it was time to move on to take a front of house catering position, after serving members of public for 7 months I then was given the opportunity of becoming catering manager to oversee all the buffet style food in-house & outside catering, within 6 months of that role I am now happily in the position of Chef Manger, responsible for planning producing and presenting 3 course dinning for events. As my heart still lays in the individuality's of buffet catering I have now created a thriving catering aspect of the business. Care, thought and dedication has excelled me in becoming one of the best known dietary specialist caterers in Plymouth.
