I have a strong background in Customs and Excise Audit, specializing in ensuring compliance and efficiency within customs operations. With 15 years of experience in this field, I have developed a deep understanding of customs regulations, auditing processes, and risk management strategies. Currently, I am a key member of the Customs and Capacity Building Project team, in this role, I collaborate with various stakeholders to identify areas for improvement, develop and implement strategies, and provide guidance to optimize customs procedures and structures. In recognition of my leadership abilities and commitment to excellence, I had the privilege of being the first-ever Chairperson of the SARS (South African Revenue Service) Junior Board. Complementing my practical experience, I hold an LLB degree, which has provided me with a solid foundation in legal principles and their application within the customs and excise domain. Additionally, I have obtained the Advanced Certificate in Fraud Examination from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Furthermore, I have earned a WCO (World Customs Organization) certificate as a Middle Management Development Facilitator. This certification signifies my proficiency in designing and delivering training programs, imparting knowledge and skills to customs officers and staff to enhance their professional capabilities.
