Safe Families surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. Through volunteer Host Families, Family Friends, Resource Friends and Family Coaches, we temporarily host children and provide a network of support to families in crisis while they get back on their feet. Our activities include: Recruiting volunteers to fill each role; screening, training, and approving volunteers; matching volunteers to a family-in-crisis and providing coaching support and supervision; networking with referral agencies through the area (including, but not limited to: Children's Aid Societies, hospitals, police stations, schools, refugee centres, homeless shelters, etc.); assessment and intake of families in need; driving kids to placements; home visits and supports; administration to support all of the above activities.
