My research investigates the experiences of PoC who are currently using creative means to achieve equity within two underexplored, white-dominated subcultures: Cosplay whose members dress up as characters from geek media, and Analogue Gaming which includes board gamers, miniature war gamers and fantasy role-players. By doing so this project explores the ways that individuals use their subcultural membership to disrupt hegemonic norms, gain rights, and produce new, creative ways of being a citizen within their subcultures.

Responsible for the everyday running of the ESRC funded Fabulous Feminities Project, investigating how fabulousness and femininities are performed by UK burlesque performers and club-goers via costume.Duties include: Conducting qualitative research; liaising with stakeholders; organising conferences and public engagement events; managing an online archive; running social media platforms, writing papers and book chapters, conducting lectures, and preparing seminar materials; film production.

Part of a research team of 5, researching wearable tech and citizenship on the European Research Council (ERC) funded project Politics of Patents. Led on data collection, analysis and artefact reconstruction of three key research themes.Duties included: data collection, management and analysis of a database of over 300,000 datapoints; critical analysis of patent documents and archival materials; reconstruction of key artefacts from historic patents; ethnographic analysis; preparing reports; public engagement events and demonstrations; project management; writing papers, blogs and book chapters for publication for mixed audiences; presenting research findings at academic conferences; teaching postgraduate students
