- Educate paediatric patients and their parents, on the dietary management of (mainly) Type 1 Diabetes- Continuing to work within both in-patient and outpatient paediatric dietetics as previous roles - I offer structured dietetic education to patients and their families on either a one-to-one or group basis which includes intensive carbohydrate counting education and diabetes exercise management -Review blood glucose trends via continuous blood glucose monitors and other data sources like mylife, pump uploads and make insulin adjustments, dietary and exercise suggestions and plans- Set insulin to carbohydrate ratios for newly diagnosed - Work with the multidisciplinary team to update gluidelines and pathways including the Libre pathway - Complete a Level 7 short course module at Birmingham City University on Children and Young Peoples Diabetes Care

- Educate paediatric patients and their parents, on the dietary management of (mainly) Type 1 Diabetes - I cover a weekly paediatric clinic and the children’s ward when required; where I review children with faltering growth, obesity, food allergies and those requiring enteral feeding- I won the DMEG Education and Innovation Bursary Award in 2014. I have used this funding to start a research project called 'Cook and Count' which has been approved by ethics and is currently ongoing. http://www.dmeg.org.uk/research_awards.html- I have updated/and created new dietetic department guidelines for children and young people with diabetes on topics such as exercise advice for patients on multiple daily injections - I offer structured dietetic education to patients and their families on either a one-to-one or group basis which includes intensive carbohydrate counting education and exercise management- I have attended insulin pump training by Medtronic and Roche and see patients started on insulin pumps - I co-facilitate training of staff nurses in the management of diabetes and general paediatrics - I provide annual nutrition updates to student doctors and paediatric consultants

I have volunteered for numerous Diabetes UK Care Events for children and young people over the last couple of years. On these weekends I helped to facilitate group activities focusing on diet and exercise management in Diabetes. They have provided me with an invaluable insight into what's it's like living with Diabetes.

- Work closely within multi-professional team; including consultant, specialist nurses, pharmacist, social workers and external agencies- Help to council children/ adolescents and their families that are affected by HIV- In clinic I assess the growth and development and the nutritional status of the patients; this includes helping to diagnose deficiencies and advising on possible treatments- Illustrated my good time management and organisation skills by balancing my workload from this post alongside my renal workload

• Provide individualised dietary advice in Hypertension, General Nephrology and Low Clearance outpatient clinics • Contribute to the Renal team Department standards • Assess inpatient/ outpatient Haemodialysis and CAPD patients and provide individualised specific dietary advice often liaising with other specialist Dietetic teams such as weight management• Help to input and advice on the prescribing of Vitamin D analogues and phosphate binders • Attend internal and external training days • Member of Renal Nutrition Group

• Provide nutrition interventions both within the inpatient (Neonatal Ward and Paediatric Ward) and outpatient setting on a daily basis• Assess infants through teenagers who have a wide variety of conditions that affect diet, eating and growth such as failure to thrive, enteral feeding and different food sensitivities such as milk/ gluten intolerance.• Flexible to the shifting demands and nature of a paediatric team, I would also cover additional paediatric sessions when the opportunity arose. This included co-facilitating Paediatric CHO counting group/ Weight Management Groups and clinics such as a paediatric Cystic Fibrosis

• Experience of managing an extremely busy caseload including providing cover of a variety of wards including respiratory, surgical, coronary, orthopedic and elderly care • Provide dietetic services in general clinics. I have experience in managing conditions including Diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipidaemia, nutrition support, nutritional deficiencies, obesity and condition affecting the gut such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Coeliac Disease• Deliver a number of talks and presentations in a number of group settings• Participate in auditing the meal service against the Esssence of Care benchmarking and piloting new initiatives at ward level

• Planned and delivered community based activities in children centers, schools, and other community settings to promote dietary behaviour• Developed a range of range of activities/ workshops/ courses as appropriate to different groups within the community• Completed needs assessments to measure and assess gaps in nutritional/ lifestyle in order to target sessions • One gap identified a lack of knowledge around weaning of outreach workers in Children Centres; which led to myself and a small team designing and rolling out training over Leicestershire

Initially funded by Unltd Social Entrepreneur Award as a voluntary nutrition consultancy and went on to facilitate individual consultantions/ group sessions for primary care trusts around Derbyshire focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.
