I was responsible for organizing, monitoring and directing the development, implementation and assessment of instructional professional development programs Pre-K through 12. Focus professional development on improving delivery of curriculum using effective models of teaching and learning. Coordinating all district professional development programs with district curriculum and state mandates. Using assessment data, district goals, district curriculum, instruction needs and state mandates to determine professional development needs. Communicate and work in collaboration with site administrators and staff to design professional development.· Responsible for development and coordination of Annual Academic Institute for an estimated 2,000 educators· Oversees development, implementation, and annual review of Induction, and peer review/peer assistance program development· Responsible for creating and maintaining Title II, part A programs which provide supplemental activities that strengthen the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders

During the time I was at Palmetto we raised student achievement levels. During my 1st year, I oversaw the writing of our Alternative Governance Plan, due to Palmetto being in Year 4 Program Improvement. Based on our Spring 2017 Smarter Balance Assessment, Palmetto was the only school in FUSD who showed growth for the past 3 years in both Math & ELA at every grade. Palmetto was also selected to be the 1:1 Initiative Pilot for the district. I coordinated & arranged training for my staff who would be implementing the 1:1 in their classrooms on the SAMR Model, TPACK Framework, Digital Citizenship, and Instructional Strategies. I worked closely with our Teacher on Assignment to provide training for staff on Close Reading, Thinking Maps, and Write from the Beginning.

During my nine years as Principal, I worked with transforming Juniper Elementary school into a Professional Learning Community; I organized professional development for my staff in the following areas: Thinking Maps, Write from the Beginning, Web 2.0 tools, Leadership Teams that Work, Teach Like a Champion, DIBELS, and RTI to name a few. Juniper joined the “No Excuse University” network of schools across the country to promote college readiness and implemented a successful RTI model. During my time at Juniper Elementary we made all of our API (122-point growth) and AYP growth targets I also had the pleasure of being selected to be an Elementary Principal Cluster lead to support other principals.

During my three years as an Assistant Principal, I have worked with discipline; student attendance and ways to improve it; single school plan for student achievement; staff evaluations; student data and how to use it for school improvement; after school programs; categorical programs; and staff development.

During my four years as a teacher, I taught grades K-2. I served on the leadership team for my grade level, was involved in the SST process, headed up the Sunshine committee, served on the field day committee, and various other committees. I was chosen as Hemlock Teacher of the year for the 2000-2001 school year and FTA Saturn Educator of the Month for March 2000.
