Delighted to be taking up new challenges leading Alcohol Beverages Australia - the pan industry peak body representing the alcohol industry in Australia. Following a restructure in late 2022, a refocused ABA champions the alcohol industry and responsible drinkers - some 16 million of us, not to mention the half a million Australians who work in the sector. The new board of Directors is made up of the four peak industry associations: Spirits and Cocktails, Wine and Grape, Brewers and Retail Drinks Association. A great opportunity to lead an organisation focused on ensuring a sustainable, responsible future for this vital sector with balanced, evidenced based regulations - and targeted support and harm minimisation for those individuals who need help changing their behaviour.

Undertook a Masters of Laws specialisingi in Governance (following the Hayne Royal Commission) as student in the augural intake at Bond University (part time) and operated Young Consulting Services, working with a wide range of regional, national and international clients of significant development projects, community engagement and capacity building, business development, marketing, government affairs and communications. Specialised in Strategic business and project advice in cornerstone economic portfolios and projects including resources, utilities and infrastructure both public and privately funded. Focused on future proofing regional remote and particularlyNorthern Australia including ICT, energy, renewables and sustainable population growth and real life work and living opportunities in safe, sustainable, liveable communities is a passion of mine.

While CEO of Townsville City Council (TCC), I undertook extensive management reform, moving TCC towards a simple, faster and more transparent organisation. During my time as CEO, the Townsville community has seen the securing of the $215 million Haughton Pipeline Duplication project, to be delivered by December 2019; Australia’s first City Deal, a 15-year commitment between three levels of government and the launch of the Townsville 2020 masterplan, setting a clear vision for Townsville into the future.

As Executive Director for Productivity and Reform with the Office of the Public Sector, I was accountable for assisting in delivering productivity improvements in the SA Public Service

I spent 18 years working in the Northern Territory in a variety of roles including Chief of Staff to the NT Chief Minister and Executive Director of Economic Development and Projects. My time in the Territory saw me involved in a range of major economic development projects including the $1 billion Darwin Waterfront and the Territory 2030 plan.During my extensive career in the private sector, I have held a number of high level positions including CEO of Clubs South Australia and Director of Mosscapital Northern Australia. I have also worked as a business development adviser with Rio Tinto’s Hamersley Iron operation at Mt Tom Price and operated my own management and communication consultancy.
