I am the new bilingual project lead of the Women in Business (Repreneuriat Féminin) initiative with the CDÉNÉ. My work focuses on the networking, education, and professional development of female entrepreneurs in numerous francophone rural communities across Nova Scotia - especially Chéticamp, Margaree, and Isle Madame. Our organizational efforts will also lead to the development of a new online platform that inventories businesses that are for sale across NS, with efforts focused on matching them to potential female buyers in these regions.

I thoroughly enjoyed the role of Program Assistant with the Culinary Arts and Culinary Skills Programs at the NSCC Strait Area Campus. During this time, I developed and delivered customer service and dining room etiquette workshops. I also managed social media accounts, prepared funding applications, arranged experiential outings for students, advocated for and sourced local ingredients, arranged guest speakers, developed and maintained educational recipe packets, and provided general support to students and staff.

Situated in a beautiful timber-frame home that overlooks the spectacular sunsets of western Cape Breton Island, I helped open a new 20-seat dining room at Woodroad Restaurant. During this time, I collaborated with Bishop's Wine Cellar to create a unique and specially curated wine list, I set-up Clover payment system and also interviewed, hired, and trained service staff. I assisted in the creation of a business website and managed social media accounts. I managed reservations and established relationships with local producers for fresh seasonal ingredients.

Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada

Facilitated set-up and tear-down of weekly seasonal farmer’s market, while managing three volunteers.Coordinated and helped deliver educational workshops (some of which were offered for free, through successful grant applications, to a variety of participants). Created marketing materials, and promoted fundraising initiatives that paired local food and beverage producers with community. Recruited and scheduled weekly entertainment. Advocated for a weekly salary for these musicians. Managed customer complaints and resolved vendor grievances. Reconciled weekly deposits and presented financial reports to Board of Directors. Created and maintained new website and social media platforms. Conducted surveys to help improve customer traffic & vendor satisfaction.
