In this role, I’m working across three departments: The Endeavor Foundation Center for Faculty Development, the Department of English, and the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research.

•Greet customers, answer their questions regarding the store, and provide book suggestions •Take special orders for books not in stock •Shelve and display merchandise •Manage transactions•Ship orders and updated order information

•Recruited and interviewed participants virtually about their academic experience at the university•Met target number of participants within a tight deadline •Recorded results and collaborated with other research assistants to construct a suggestion chart that detailed how the university could improve the attainment gap for students•Presented findings virtually at the university’s annual Learning and Teaching Conference (July 2020). Focused on suggestions for how teachers could modify a blended learning approach to increase students’ feelings of belonging •120 staff members attended the session

•Corresponded with the photographer and interview subjects to schedule times •Conducted interviews on how subjects built and maintained successful careers•Wrote profiles, met tight deadlines, and was asked to be a regular writer after the first story was published

•Received one of ten competitive Honors research fellowships given to the top 10% •Improved and developed proposed research plan with fellowship advisor. In my research paper, I argued that Jean Rhys's fiction applies to current, Western beauty ideals, and explored the intersection of gendered expectations on social media, specifically snapchat and Instagram filters•Presented paper, “Behind the Mask” to the directors of the Honor’s Program •After receiving a positive response from the Honor's Program, I presented this paper at the South Atlantic Modern Language Association in November, 2018
