About Adeline Leung

Growing up, I used to look up at a famous skyline of high-rises in awe. Now, I look up to understand how the internal systems and structures come together in a building. The following examples explain why I’m an architecture / engineering / construction (AEC) sustainability chameleon:- Connects ideas and sees the bigger picture: In a global AEC project team, I took on the least familiar role for me - the MEP lead - and was able to explain in simple terms all the disciplines’ concerns and interests to meet deadlines. - Answers “how do we actually do it?”: In projects spanning design, construction, and demolition, I’m figuring out how to implement material reuse into Stanford’s project delivery process. - Has a high tolerance for long journeys: I willingly make 2-hour long commutes on public transit instead of a 40-minute drive to see people who matter to me. Like a chameleon, I’m ready to shift strategies and pull from my diverse knowledge background to gather people from all backgrounds; and, like my long commutes, I’m ready for this critical journey of scaling up all the ways we can play a part in creating a climate-positive built environment. For my next step, I’m seeking hands-on opportunities for knowledge of embodied carbon, sustainable design, and building / material reuse. Let’s connect if any of the above sparks your interest as well!
