I am a veterinary nurse at the University of Sydney's Wildlife Hospital in Camden and I have an integral role in the running of this tertiary veterinary teaching facility. I am passionate about the natural world, and a strong advocate for the care and protection of both terrestrial and aquatic species. Caring for wild animals that are suffering from anthropogenic threats and seeing them, not only return to the wild but also thrive gives me a sense of purpose.My previous work experience includes vet nursing positions in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland as well as zoo keeping roles at Melbourne Aquarium and Cairns Tropical Zoo. My experience is broad and includes raptors, penguins, sea turtles, wombats, koalas and more.I am a licensed volunteer wildlife rehabilitator and a committee member of Australian Raptor Care and Conservation Inc. I am also an occupational diver qualified under the Australian Diver Accreditation scheme and have worked with Professional Diving Services at Taronga and Melbourne Zoos helping to maintain a healthy habitat for the animals. I have also contributed my skills as a diver to underwater archaeology surveys and excavations.
