Produced weekly statewide radio shows Talk of Alaska and Line One: Your Health Connection and statewide public affairs television program Alaska Insight. I also hosted hour-long radio programs and produced special programming related to news and public affairs, such as election resources and a series of conversations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

Hired as an education reporter covering topics including local schools, the University of Alaska Southeast, Alaska Native language revitalization, as well as breaking and weekend news. Eventually moved to city reporting, covering the Juneau Assembly and wider issues concerning the state capital including homelessness, cruise ship tourism and topics of interest throughout Southeast Alaska and statewide. I was also the primary reporter on seasons one and two of KTOO's Cruise Town podcast.

Trained the next generation of public media journalists through PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs. As the primary web editor for both studentreportinglabs.com and newshourextra.com, I worked with a variety of public media and education partners as well as students and teachers to teach students how to use their own voices to share stories from their lives and communities and to make current events accessible by adapting PBS NewsHour reports into classroom lessons.

Organized a team of undergraduate researchers investigating national juvenile offender statistics for the early production of Stickup Kid, which premiered Dec. 17, 2014. The team contacted state and non-profit agencies across the country to track down specific numbers and information regarding youth incarceration.
