Adeodato Freire Pinto is a corporate lawyer with 20 years of experience in Corporate, Commercial, Projects, Finance Law and Intellectual Property Rights matters.In 2015 was nominated Head of Legal of the Efacec Group, the largest Portuguese solutions provider for the electrical and electromechanical sector with a presence in over 60 countries. In October 2020 became General Counsel of the Group. Is also Secretary of the Company of the Holding of the Group.As General Counsel of the Group provides legal advice to the corporation and counsels the CEO and the BoD on all legal, ethical and compliance, public policy, corporate citizenship, and country and geopolitical matters. Within this role is an active participant of the Boards meetings where he was able to acquire general business management skills in non-legal areas.As Head of Legal is responsible for a legal team of more than 10 persons, manages the external counsels and coordinates the legal support to all Business Units and shared services of the Group, as well as the legal interaction with the more than 40 international subsidiaries and branches of the Group.The Legal department is responsible for drafting and negotiate all the commercial contracts of the Group, including complex EPC and FIDIC contracts. The team also provides contract manager services for the most relevant projects. In its role is frequently engaged in transversal projects of the organization, where he contributes with its legal vision and advise, proposes risk mitigation measures and negotiates the alignment of the different stakeholders of the organization.As responsible for the compliance and corporate governance areas, tries to conform the company's activities to the best international practices in these fields. Is business-oriented, commercially proactive and has attention to the financial and economic impacts of its decisions and advices. In the past has worked with Portuguese Tier 1 Law Firms where he advised several clients, amongst which many multinational corporations, in all corporate related matters. Has participated in several M&A projects, including Cross Border Mergers, as well as in Venture Capital projects, advising Investment Funds and Start-Up Companies. Advised clients in asset purchase agreements, Companies' restructuring operations, in the setting up of Joint Ventures and in foreign investment projects.
