As a founder, my goal is to provide trauma-informed education.══ INTERACTIVE ══Providing trauma-informed education to providers to assist staff in learning how to care for victims of violent crime is something I champion and cultivate. I create long-range organizational strategies, plans, and organizational policies which empower staffs with the process, organization, maintenance, and supervision necessary to deliver optimal care. I lead by striving for the organization to win overall and as a c-suite level executive, I’m able to professionally train staff.The trauma-informed evidence-based research I convey is on how care providers can avoid retraumatizing victims of violent crimes. I also offer a 40-hour domestic violence training course for incoming advocates who are new to the field of domestic violence under California Evidence Code Section §1037.1(a)(1) - Section §1037.8 and explicitly stated in Article 8.7. of the California Evidence Code, Division 8 and Chapter 4 Privileges on Domestic Violence Counselor-Victim Privilege [1037 - 1037.8].I don’t only help my clientele professionally train their staff on evidence-based knowledge for caring for victims of violence. The Freedom Train Project is to help survivors of coercion to recreate their lives with our signature “Destinations” program, designed to assist in planning an escape, to the process of leaving, and on to the journey to healing. We utilize unique partnerships with victim advocacy agencies, law firms, law enforcement, therapy with qualified therapists, cult education, basic needs supplies, and community resources for housing and employment. The services provided are highly targeted to the needs of these survivors during their different phases of recovery.

Perform duties entailing advocacy counseling and life management planning for battered women and children. Provide direct advocacy-based services via Hotline and in person to primary and secondary domestic violence clients, sexual assault clients. This includes but is not limited to: the assessment of individual needs and options, emotional support, safety planning and appropriate referrals; facilitate clients’ awareness of the effective, behavioral and cognitive effects of their experience and enhance their ability to cope/adjust; preliminary screening for shelter intake to assist shelter staff if necessary; provide advocacy services at shelter as back up to shelter team if necessary; provide crisis intervention evenings/weekends to clients on the Hotline or in-person as back-up under unusual circumstances. Facilitated or Co-facilitated domestic violence support group with the Volunteer and Intern Coordinator, or other assigned staff, received regular consultation for support group activities and professional development as directed by the Director. Provided support and appropriate attention to children of clients during office visits as necessary. We work closely with the Police Department, Ombudsman, DPSS, Dept of Social Services and Child Protective Services. Maintained agency/client confidentiality as required by ADV policy; ensured security of client records and the office areas.

The goal of Casa Di Nuova Vita Corp is to provide emergency, transitional, and temporary housing for battered women and children and homeless female veterans. Our support services will assist families who are fleeing from domestic violence situations. Other support related services we provide are for women who are victims of sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. While having residency at our shelter, the women are automatically enrolled in the shelter's Paragon Program.

Performed Counseling and data analysis of patients. Provide addiction-counseling services to drug addicted patients. Completed initial needs assessment and individualized treatment plans to effectively help patients to improve the quality of our patients’ lives. Maintained patient charts and document all counseling services according to regulations. Worked closely in conjunction with the Office of Veterans Affairs, facilitating groups for substance addicted veterans. Assisted with appropriate referrals when needed. Followed supervision of Program Manager.

Counseling, Records Management and Reporting. Group and individual counseling: adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17, concerning environmental and social circumstances such as Rape, Children's Protective Services, Maladjusted Behavior, Drugs, and Alcohol abuse, Runaways, Refugees, Domestic Abuse, Emotional Abuse and Physical Abuse, Family Dynamics, and Homeless related situations. Perform intakes: interview, background inquiry, data collection, and parent contact. Disciplined and rewarded clients for work duties performed with the established guidelines. Hotline crises calls, references, and referrals.

ADV incorporates in June, 1978, as the Riverside County Coalition for Alternatives to Domestic Violence.The Coalition speaks at Congressional hearings about the issue and works with State Sen. Robert Presley to get SB 91, a bill that funds the first six domestic violence shelters in the state, including Horizon House, passed. The coalition receives a grant from the state to fund the 24-hour Crisisline.A 1920s bungalow in downtown Riverside is purchased by a local couple and later purchased by ADV. It becomes Horizon House, Riverside County’s first and only domestic violence shelter with 15 beds.1984The Corona Outreach Office opens at the Circle City Hospital. ADV has two additional outreach sites in Riverside and Indio.1985After only seven years, ADV has to turn away hundreds of domestic violence victims because there are not enough beds at Horizon House. In 1985, 712 women are denied shelter due to the lack of space at Horizon House. The Desert Outreach Program opens.1987ADV’s board of directors announces a $2 million fund-raising campaign to create two more shelters: a 15-20 bed “Horizon House East” in the desert and a 45-bed “Horizon House West” to serve Corona-Norco and the mid-county area.1991Office space is donated to expand ADV outreach services in Blythe, Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley and Palm Springs.2008ADV commemorates 30 years of service to the community!
