The Joint Council of Extension Professionals represents the collective voice of over 10,000 professionals connecting Extension from the ground up. Our structure provides the framework to: 1) network across disciplines; 2) expand professional development opportunities beyond our individual disciplines; 3) offer opportunities for next level national leadership for association leaders, and 4) assure that Extension professionals have an active role in creating and ensuring the future of the Extension System.

The mission of the New River Gorge Trails Alliance is to create and maintain a regional trail network. Directors and members work to provide leadership, vision, and coordination of trail building in the New River Gorge Region and adjoining counties.

The National Association of Community Development Extension Professionals -NACDEP is an organization dedicated to improving the visibility, coordination, professional status and resource base of community and economic development Extension programs and professionals.

Destination: Downtown Oak Hill is a community led revitalization and development group that has been working to provide a better quality of life and improve Oak Hill's business district since the Spring of 2016. The group has come together to form a voluntary non-profit association where all members help to chart the direction of the organization.

The "Reaching the Summit in 2013" Steering Committee was created by the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority immediately following the announcement of the BSA to develop a High Adventure Camp and National Jamboree site in Fayette County, WV.This committee helps to coordinate the activities of the BSA, state of WV, National Park Service, and Fayette and surrounding counties.Four standing sub-committees have been developed to achieve the missions of the Committee: Economic Development, Community Development, Tourism and Safety and Infrastructure.The Committee meets monthly to coordinate activities to prepare our region to recieve visitors from around the globe and to prepare our communities to take the greatest advantage of the opportunities to come.

- Oversight of WV State Museum project, a 17.5 million dollar state-of-the-art immersive and experiential environment that takes visitors through a chronological history of the state of WV. completed in June 2009- Provide administrative direction for historical artifact, contemporary art and archeological collections; state museum education and operations; permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits, and the five state historic sites/museums: West Virginia Independence Hall, Grave Creek Mound Archeological Complex, Jenkins Plantation, Camp Washington-Carver, and Museum in the Park.- Enforce, evaluate, and develop policies and procedures for state museum historical, contemporary art and archeological collections- Identify, develop and support multiple, complex grant applications for funding- Report to Archives and History Commission three times annually- Work with managers to identify, monitor, and resolve personnel issues - Direct and monitor conservation and proper installation of museum artifacts for museum renovation

- Develop new exhibits that reflect the local community and offer exposure to the arts- Teach art classes for children and adults- Locally market and establish strong connections to local community- Identify and establish strong working relationships with organizations that relate to the missions of the museum- Establish long-term yearly programs in education and the arts that are still being offered to the community- Develop long-range vision for museum- Supervise employees and provide administrative direction- Increased attendance from 5,000 per year to 20,000 per year in first year

- Develop and update policies and contracts as needs arise - Schedule exhibits based on proposals and priority guidelines- Issue and explain legal contracts to exhibitors - Consult with exhibitors on matters of publicity, insurance, handling, signage, reception preparation and safety - When needed, assist students in installing work which requires a high level of expertise or poses a possible safety concern- Instituted weekly email announcements to students and faculty that doubled attendance totals during the first year - Maintain accurate attendance records- Facilities maintenance, including equipment inventory and upkeep - Supervision of installation and strike of over 100 exhibits in two years
