I am a principal system engineer at Amazon Web Services, working with the AWS Fault Injection Service team. My role is to help software organizations anticipate, adapt, respond, and learn from failures using resilience engineering principles.As principal engineer, I am a senior technical leader responsible for designing and building the core systems and infrastructure that power AWS's cloud services. In this role, I tackle the company's most complex engineering challenges, establish technical standards, and drive the overall architecture and practices for AWS. This involves leading initiatives to drive operational excellence, technical strategy, and resilience across the organization. I define and improve core processes, provide strategic technical guidance, develop thought leadership content, coach and mentor teams and individuals. I collaborate closely with AWS leadership to shape the technical direction and capabilities that empower AWS and its customers to innovate with confidence.I also have the privilege of working closely with and advising some of the largest and most prominent customers of AWS, ranging from leading financial institutions to global automotive giants, on their resilience strategies. Through close collaboration with C-level, leadership, and engineering teams, I play a pivotal role in shaping their technical direction and capabilities that empower customers to innovate with confidence.
