Adi Renaldi is a Jakarta-based award-winning and award-losing multimedia journalist with more than a decade of experience. A versatile journalist, he works across multiple platforms that combines audio-visual and in-depth reporting for outlets across the world, focusing on the intersection of the environment, politics, technology, culture, and human rights. Renaldi has traveled extensively throughout the archipelago, filing stories about displacement of local communities to make way for mass tourism infrastructure, impacts of nickel mining on climate and human rights, concerns over AI for proof of personhood, systemic inequality of LGBTQ communities, and more. Since early 2020, he has contributed to more than two dozen international outlets such as WIRED UK, MIT Technology Review, National Geographic both magazine and online, The Guardian, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The New Humanitarian, Christian Science Monitor, Al Jazeera’s flagship documentary program 101 East, Al Jazeera English, South China Morning Post, Rest of World, Nikkei Asia, NPR, Courier Magazine, the Jakarta Post, China Dialogue (now Dialogue Earth), Mongabay, Initium Media, New Naratif, Asia Democracy Chronicles, Geographical Magazine UK, Project Multatuli, Coconuts, Reporting ASEAN, Investigative Reporting Project Italy (IRPI), and other publications.
