I joined Indian Railways as a Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) at Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE) and served for the period from May 2010 to May 2014. I have been encadred as an IRSME officer from June 2014 till date with present posting as Deputy Director, KSR with about 08 years experience in Group ‘A’ service. Important posts held: Divisional Mechanical Engineer at Ambala Division from February 2018 to November 2021, and as Asst. Divisional Mechanical Engineer as Incharge of train maintenance in Kashmir valley at DEMU car shed Budgam(J&K) from Dec 2015 to Jan 2018. In addition to the various Railway assignments, I am also serving as an officer in the Territorial Army. In various assignments, I have gained experience in government procurement and tendering process, contract management and railway operations. In my present assignment as Dy. Director (Heritage) at Kalka Shimla Railway, I am The overall administrative in-charge of the Heritage Kalka Shimla Railway, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and 120 year old working railway system. The areas of responsibility as Dy.Director/KSR include coordination with various national and international agencies viz. UNESCO and associated bodies, Railway Board, state governments and other local bodies, standardization bodies and railway units; implementation of the guidelines of UNESCO and commitment of Indian Railways and Government of Indian towards the World Heritage convention and the defined objectives of the state party; Handling various national and international delegations and UNESCO monitoring missions; timely compliance of UNESCO objectives, implementation of UNESCO guidelines and the Conservation Management Plan for KSR, facilitation and compliance of the monitoring mission reports; cross-departmental coordination and quasi-judicial and financial duties related to functioning of KSR, implementation of various policies, planning and execution of works.
