The government implemented a food estate project in Central Kalimantan, Pulang Pisau and Gunung Mas. Food estate projects have two potentials to 1) change the cropping pattern of rice commodities and 2) damage the environment.In Pulang Pisau, farmers have developed rice farming that harvests twice a year. This project will encourage farmers to cultivate rice to harvests three times a year.In Gunung Mas, the food estate project has the potential to damage the environment. The location is natural forest. This location has karst type soil.
