On returning to South Africa from the Middle East in July 2013, I was hired by CCTV News Correspondent Guy Henderson, for whom I produce, shoot and edit short and long format news packages for CCTV News' Africa channel, covering southern and central Africa.

Afghanistan

Director and Associate Producer of a new series for the National Geographic Channel entitled Battleground Afghanistan, which airs on 1st July 2013. This series follows the trials and tribulations of a platoon of US Marines and their Afghan partners through what is looking like the last full fighting season in the Sangin area of Afghanistan

Doha

Senior Picture Editor as well as freelance cameraman working of Al Jazeera in the newsroom in Doha. While there I went on assignment to Greece and Saudi Arabia for the network.

I am a freelance cameraman, producer and editor based in Doha, Qatar, with over twenty years experience as a journalist and over ten years in 24 hour news. I have worked for CNN, CBS news, the BBC, APTN, ZDF and Al Jazeera to name a few.

Worked as a cameraman/editor for a number of International News companies including the BBC, Al Jazeera English and Arabic, and ZDF from Johannesburg; as well as for APTN in Afghanistan during this period. I was employed by ZDF for its 2010 FIFA World Cup coverage. I was also employed by APTN's Global Media Services as a trainer for its staff in Kabul. Here I was involoved in training its staff in the latest Digital News Technologies and Techniques.

I was hired by CBS News to work primarily with its chief International Correspondent, Lara Logan, and went on assignments with her to Iraq and Afghanistan working both on news packages and 60 Minutes inserts. I also travelled to Pakistan and Gaza with other correspondents during my tenure there.

Was transferred to the Jerusalem bureau to take up the position of West Bank and Gaza cameraman/editor. Covered the on-going Intifada, the War in Lebanon and Gaza and also regularly covered the Hajj in Saudi Arabia for the network (2002-2007).

Worked out of the London bureau for CNN international as one of its "firemen" cameramen/editors rolling on breaking news stories such as the Palestinian Intifada (2000), the War in Macedonia (2001-2005) The bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen (2000), The overthrow of the Taliban government in Afghanistan (2001), the War in Iraq (2003-2005) and many other stories.
