CurrentCore responsibilities of the position of the Chief Information Officer at the Health Care Agency include: • Provide vision, leadership and direction for overall enterprise information technology solutions, innovations and improvement initiatives.• Hands on support, development, implementation, expansion and adoption and utilization strategies for the Cerner electronic health record system, and a variety of peripheral and value added applications to derive best clinical, operational and quality outcomes and goals.• Continuously plan, innovate, implement, and manage large and complex data analytics framework, platforms and architecture.• Establish and execute all related strategic and tactical planning, goals, policies and procedures.• Provide oversight of the design, implementation, management, and upgrades of the Agency network, security and risk management, disaster recovery, and applications infrastructure.• Ensure excellence in overall customer service across all program areas.• Provide and maintain particular focus on compliance with HIPAA privacy and security, as well as a number of state and federal laws, regulations, mandates and guidelines.• Maintain detailed knowledge and interpretation of current and emerging local and national health care information technology initiatives and partnerships, and develop adoption and engagement strategies.• Participate in agency and county level strategic and operational planning and governance at the executive level related to technology.• Develop and maintain effective tech-based partnerships in the community for collaborative quality improvement efforts towards improving population health conditions and outcomes.* Responsible for large budget preparation and management.
