As a new member of PowerBI core visuals team, I contribute to engineering and design of data visualization capabilities to empower every person and organization to easily understand and communicate with data.I am also the principal and founder of Keshif, LLC - a visual data analytics software company. Before founding the company in late 2016, I received my Ph.D. in computer science, with research focus on visual data analytics systems and evaluations, from University of Maryland, College Park, advised by Prof. Niklas Elmqvist and Prof. Ben Bederson. I designed and developed the rapid explorative data analytics environment Keshif, which creates a visualization and interaction driven human-data interface that advances simplicity and automation in visual analytics. My research has been published in top-ranking academic journals, including IEEE TVCG and ACM CHI. Utilizing the customizable Keshif analytics environment, I successfully created and delivered over 50 visual analytics solutions to over 25 clients ranging from startups to Fortune500 companies, and from government contractors to multi-national organizations.As the main architect and developer of the company, I created multi-tenant and single-tenant web platforms for embedded visual analytics of rich datasets. My technical skills span across full rich web application development cycle, focusing on novel interactive data visualization and front-end design and implementation, lean code architectures, and cloud-based backend systems. I managed the complete project lifecycle of solution deliveries, from requirement discovery to iterative software development, training, and client support. As the chief executive of the company, I also directly managed or contributed to marketing, recruiting, business development, pipeline development, financial planning, and contracting.
