Chief Technology Officer & Tech Lead

Leanfra - High Performance Computing

My goal is to make it possible for many more organizations to benefit from cutting-edge supercomputing solutions that work perfectly for them. This means providing superior, useable systems with improved performance at market-breaking prices. These solutions are bespoke - each as unique as our clients – and yet they’re universally functional with almost no code changes needed for operation.Leanfra exists because I realized that what’s available on the market is not even close to what’s possible with modern technology. Offerings are outdated, performance is too low, and prices are too high. Nineteen years of identifying and overcoming business challenges helped me to see there’s a serious problem with the high-performance computing market and to create in Leanfra the team, the technology and the capability to solve it. To disrupt this highly entrenched market, I not only strategize at a high level, but also work technically to break down problems and find the practical solutions that fundamentally benefit a budding company. This approach is at the heart of how I make a success of businesses like this one. It allows me to understand the ways our teams and technologies work in detail, to coordinate between them and to set realistic, practical goals. On the client side, I appreciate the needs and visions of our customers and how we can serve them in the best way possible.

R&D And Infrastructure Manager

Magnifind.Ca

When I conceived Magnifind, I saw it as a way to help people, providing a hub to link them more directly to the healthcare professionals their conditions need. Provided through an easy-to-use local search system, this makes health services more accessible and aims to have a positive effect on health in general. To bring Magnifind to market, I built an international team and advisory board, raising funds for the new venture and demonstrating the opportunity associated with such an idea. Then came development. I managed the creation of a robust, scalable, high performance platform using then bleeding-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry and InfluxDB, which have since had their worth recognized and become industry standards. It is a source of pride for me that this project allowed me to use my skills to improve people’s quality of life across Canada.

Co Founder

ENIGMAi is a multi-million-dollar solution to the seemingly ‘unsolvable’ call center scheduling problem. Ten years ago, Mastercard set the challenge of writing a program to achieve near-perfect automatic call-center scheduling, which would be very valuable to many, but which most presumed impossible. Needless to say, they were surprised when I returned a few years later with the solution. Especially since it was a single, small file on a USB stick I handed them. I’d spent four years mostly in my garage doing the math and working on algorithms, which wasn’t an easy task when going up against billion-dollar companies. Mastercard bought the solution, but the money wasn’t the main motivation or reward for me. I enjoyed seeing people using and benefitting from my program. Such as call centers whose revenue had increased and employees whose working life had improved.
