What started out as simply a way for my wife and I to build community for our toddler eventually grew into what is now known as Asante Cycles. After seeing how a balance bike was able to create the perfect little vehicle for liberation and empowerment for our then 9-month-old, we have been committed to spreading the bike love ever since. Serving over 15,000 families since 2014 via our cycling programs and various community education and advocacy events. I lead and facilitate year-round Cycling Clinics (balance and pedal bike), Family Cycling Workshops, Family Rides (day and night), Bike Playdates, one-on-one instruction, and various community education and advocacy events. I celebrate body diversity by honoring how folks arrive with an emphasis on compassionate self-care and a focus on health at every size and ability, including intuitive eating and finding the joy in movement.

Founded, developed programming, and led an emerging non-profit in cultivating a strong grassroots community education and empowerment initiative centering the needs of families of color and focused on developing equitable access to resources through advocacy, education, and community building. We organized a variety of programming to provide affinity spaces for over 250,000 families to socialize, learn, and support each other as we navigated parenthood.
