I am a Secondary School Counselor at Baxter Springs High School. This is my 4th year in the profession, and I have worked with 5th-12th grade. I have experience in the following areas: substance abuse services, individual counseling, classroom counseling lessons, gifted testing, suicide risk assessments, event planning, social media, etc. I love working with high school students, whether it be in the social/emotional or academic arena. Previous to school counseling, I did substitute teaching at USD 493 for 2 years. I also interned at Ozark Center in Joplin, counseling transitional aged youth with substance abuse disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. I always try my best to make the students I work with feel heard and accepted. I also love using humor in my work when appropriate.
