The alumni and companies who take an interest in Bobcats are the reason why I have excelled in my four years in college.As an Inside Data Center Account Executive covering the Greater Chicago area, I help our customers achieve their strategic goals through providing information and pricing when a need arises (storage, backup, disaster/cyber solutions, AI strategies and cloud). Being the Director of Engagement for the Schey is the best position I could have been put in because I have a talent for bringing people together and creating a more united environment. I came into this position with no platform made, so a large part of my goal was designing a form of stability for this position. A large part of the position is proposals. For every event that I would need funding for (which was most of them) I would have to create a proposal explaining why this would be beneficial to the organization/members and what exactly the event entails and costs. Even though I would spend hours on the proposals, having to re-edit them over and over, it was worth it. Being able to bring everyone together was rewarding for me to want to keep doing it. Some events I planned or helped be apart of were team bonding activities between the leadership team, induction for new hires, slice nights, creating a pointage system to keep members actively motivated to attend events and recruiting efforts at the beginning of the semester.During COVID I have done several things during the fall 2020 semester. For recruiting I was held responsible for handling the info sessions and making sure the panelist was filled, questions were prepared and everyone was prepped accordingly. I also took on the role of being in charge of Team Leads. Team leads are current Schey members who act as a mentor figure to a group of new hires during their onboarding process. I had to pair members and set requirements during the fall semester. Attached is my report we have to write for the end of the position.
