Research Bioengineer in Dr. Stefan Green's group. Research interests include investigation of microbial community dynamics in host-associated and environmental systems using Omics approaches and bioinformatics.

Postdoctoral research in microbial oceanography in Katherine Barbeau's Lab. My research involved the investigation of coupled iron and carbon metabolism in marine Alteromonas strains. I used a combination of laboratory cultivation experiments, genetics, transcriptomics and bioinformatics to understand how marine bacteria like Alteromonas acquire and use siderophore-bound iron, and the subsequent impacts on bacterial growth and carbon metabolism.

Postdoctoral research in stream ecology in Timothy Hoellein's Lab. My work focused on understanding successional trends in biofilm community structure and metabolic activity on common plastic litter in an urban stream.

My research involved evaluating the impact of natural and anthropogenic perturbations on aquatic microbial community structure and function using cutting edge tools of metagenomics and metatranscriptomics
