As a software developer at eLife, a global marketing company that has been serving Japanese clients in over 10 countries for 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as part of a team. While I am still learning the ropes and working on my Japanese language skills, I have successfully collaborated with my Japanese teammates to provide comprehensive strategy planning, development, analysis, and execution services for our clients. Despite any language barriers, I am committed to giving my best effort and striving for success in this exciting and challenging role.

As a Frontend Engineer at Gojek, an Indonesian unicorn company that provides a range of on-demand services including transportation, food delivery, and digital payments, I had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including Moka Backoffice and GoStore. In this role, I had the chance to collaborate with teams from Singapore, India, and other countries, and I was also able to mentor interns through the Generasi Gigih program. Gojek has had a significant impact on Indonesia and the wider world, and I am proud to have been a part of this innovative and dynamic company.

I am honored to have the opportunity to join a company in an industry I greatly admire. I have always been a user of the company's products and have envisioned myself working for them since 2016, even before becoming a software engineer. My responsibilities include developing the Kitabisa Saling Jaga web app, assisting team members in delivering high-quality web applications, providing the Ops team with easy access to the internal dashboard, collaborating with all domains to determine comprehensive product and technical specifications, working with Product Managers on product experiments to increase specific metrics, and initiating Kitajaga Frontend.

[Hiatus]I have been fortunate to have met Adam Alfiansyah, the founder of Wegodev Indonesia, as his padawan in 2016 and as a Jedi partner in 2019. We share a joint mission to level up ourselves and provide value to others through programming education. My passion for programming led me to focus on creating tutorial content, strategizing and planning for marketing, and business development and rewriting the front end of the platform. Though it is a significant job description, I am able to handle it only during my off hours and weekends. Nevertheless, it has improved my personal development and programming skills.

I joined Direct Team as a Frontend Engineer, where I was responsible for developing and maintaining products for customer use. My responsibilities included working on the Alfamart payment system, handling Airy flights baggage information on the web app, LinkAja payment system, Salesforce integration to the web app, developing and maintaining UI libraries for the team, collaborating with the Product Designer team, and being involved in the frontend codebase migration. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic led to my departure, but my time at the company was brief yet filled with enjoyable memories and valuable learning opportunities.

I have had the opportunity to teach part-time Front End Web Development and Introduction to Programming classes at Hacktiv8. As an instructor, I strive to impart knowledge in a way that is both comprehensive and engaging. I believe in starting with the basics and building up, which is why I approach instruction by teaching JavaScript from the ground up. This allows my students to have a solid understanding of the language and its concepts, which I then supplement by incorporating frameworks. Additionally, I also focus on hands-on coding exercises, so students can apply their knowledge and improve their skills in a practical way. Overall, I find teaching to be a rewarding experience as it allows me to share my passion for programming and help others develop their own.

I had the opportunity to assist the DKI Jakarta Dinas Sosial in developing various products to support government-run social activities. In this role, I worked in a team with other technical staff members to build a data center as a web product. We used GatsbyJS as the front-end framework to develop these products. I particularly enjoyed this project as it gave me the chance to use my technical skills to contribute to a meaningful and impactful cause. It was a great opportunity to work with a team of talented individuals and to develop my skills in a real-world setting. Overall, I am glad that I could make a positive impact on the community through this project.

My first software engineering/web developer role was at HIJUP, a great career switch that was worth it. I was responsible for developing the HIJUP Membership Program, which included creating the UX flow, designing the UI, and developing the code. I also worked closely with the Business Development team to maintain data and improve the program. Additionally, I led the redesign of the HIJUP.com mobile and desktop sites, as well as the mobile app. I implemented a layout framework and component-based React with Material UI Design to make teamwork more efficient and consistent with design guidelines. I also conducted a successful usability test with HIJUP.com customers to gain insight into customer pain points with the UX and UI. Furthermore, I proposed, researched, rapid prototyped, developed, and successfully deployed various products and projects for HIJUP. I also worked with Product Management and UX to deliver working prototypes for upcoming features and develop them for deployment. I also collaborated with various divisions in the company such as Visual Division, Business Division, and Customer Service division to continuously create better products for HIJUP.com. I was also in charge of leading the team to work with icons in HIJUP.com products, resulting in a 15% increase in GMV.
