Assisting in teaching students basic lab skills such as lab safety, micropipetting, bacterial streaking, gel electrophoresis, etc.

Organizing and conducting after school robotics workshops as well as summer sessions since 2021. These hands-on workshops teach students the basics of Lego robot building and coding. EV3 robots and LEGO parts have been sourced from multiple local organizations to allow over two dozen participants in each session. Premade sets of parts are given to each participant to build an EV3 robot based on instructions provided. Over the course of the workshop, the participants learn to code their robots to complete various challenges. So far, more than 120 elementary and middle school students have participated and benefitted from these workshops. In 2023 we have four workshops planned with the YMCA and other organizations. In the future we plan to expand our reach to the greater Frederick area.

Was selected to be the Maryland representative for the 2023 Million Girls Moonshot Flight Crew, where I was given the opportunity to meet other like minded young women in STEM who are passionate about making a change in their communities. The mission of this program is to encourage young girls to pursue STEM beyond the classroom and close the gender gap in science and technology. Attended the Girls Build Solutions conference featuring many remarkable women in STEM and was given the chance to network and share my STEM journey with them.

Selected as an Alumni Council member to liaise with the Project Manager of the National Science Teaching Association responsible for the AEOP GEMS summer STEM enrichment program. The role involves working with NSTA in their outreach activities.

Member of the Frederick County SHELeads program, run by the Frederick County Commission for Women, encouraging high school girls to develop leadership skills and give back to the community. Created podcasts on topics including the effects of social media on the young mind and tips on effective time management. Participated in a professional workshop on teamwork and communication skills.

Member of the 2023 cohort of Learning Undefeated, an externship opportunity to work in a hands on lab under the guidance of experienced scientists. Includes participating in seminars where professionals from a wide range of careers are invited to speak about their STEM journey and experiences. This program introduces young women to career opportunities in diverse areas of STEM.

Attended the virtual SHLA program that focuses on leadership skills, college prep advice, STEM pathway opportunities, self development and DEI. Additionally, it provided multiple opportunities to network with peers, mentors, role models, and industry professionals.
