Head, Intellecap Impact Investment NetworkIntellecap Sep 2011 - Sep 2015Mumbai, Maharashtra, InIntellecap is a 12-year old advisory firm dedicated to working with scalable for-profit business that have a clear social impact on the ground. We work across the sectors of Education, Healthcare, Agri, Clean Energy, Financial Inclusion, Water and Sanitation. The annual Sankalp Forum hosted by Intellecap is currently the largest convening in the social enterprise space globally bringing together over 1000 stakeholders each year ranging from enterprises to investors, corporates, foundations, governments, policy makers, the press, etc. With the goal of opening up such investment opportunities to domestic investors, we launched the Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N or I-cube N) about 3 years back, which I have been heading. I3N is India's first angel network focusing on funding social enterprises, and is an exclusive network of ~85 investors including some influential individuals and early stage funds, who come together to co-invest into deals. Investors join the platform for the love of supporting brilliant entrepreneurs who are building sustainable models to solve developmental challenges.I3N's uniqueness lies in leveraging the 100-people Intellecap team to source the best social enterprises, and provide extensive support to them before and after investment. We have quarterly in-person showcase meetings where we showcase ~5 carefully vetted enterprises looking for investment. In the last couple of years since inception, we have screened over 1100 companies, showcased over 50 companies to our investors, and 10 of these companies have received investment, and 4 have already raised further rounds. -
