I am interested in Neuroscience, Philosophy, Mathematics, Languages, Computers and Logic.I started my career with a bachelor's in veterinary medicine, and after a brief time in clinics and the field, moved on to basic research. As I grew philosophically, I got more inclined to learning about the brain and neural systems in general. I joined the graduate program at National Centre for Biological Sciences (TIFR), Bengaluru in Prof Upinder Singh Bhalla's lab to work on neural circuits and their dynamics. I am currently working on mouse hippocampal circuits and studying the dynamics of excitation, inhibition, and timing. I use patch clamp electrophysiology, virus mediated optogenetics, and microscopy to study the behaviour of neurons in networks in-vitro. Over the years I have also gotten interested in the science of teaching, learning, and education. I think technical learning, at par with available open-source technologies, should be made available earlier in school education. Together with open source, do-it-yourself, this decentralization of science and learning will bring a huge drive in our basic education. I have been putting some effort into popularizing open-source methods and making science cheap and easy for school and senior education.Apart from that, I enjoy triathlons, starwatching, dhrupad, and photography.
