Worked as an intern in the Big data company which provides Data Lake Platform as a service. Got the opportunity to work on big data technologies like Hadoop, hive, etc, and public clouds like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Worked on an individual project to provide Prometheus monitoring support for Hive Team. Major work includes:1) Creating and sending metrics from hive JVMs to Prometheus2) Creating alerts and integrating them with external sources like slack, gmail, etc.3) Creating custom dashboards, integrating with datadog.4) Finally for replacing existing ganglia monitoring with Prometheus, creating test plans for Prometheus using pytest library.5) Doing stress testing for 50 to 100 node cluster, optimizing ram and cpu utilization.6) Giving Prometheus metrics persistent storage by integrating it with thanos to send metrics to S3.
