Aditya Gupta is a SDE | CS @ The University of Arizona. They is proficient in French. Colleagues describe them as "Beacon Community is an ed-tech startup that focuses on using data analytics to boost client outcomes. Aditya joined in a data analyst role to work on “blue-sky” projects – projects that would prepare us for medium-term growth even if they wouldn’t become immediate revenue generators. Aditya blew past all expectations – projects that I expected several weeks to complete would be done in mere days. Features we thought we’d bring to market a year from now suddenly became viable to push out over the summer. We struggled to keep him occupied given he would deliver much faster than we had anticipated. Moreover the quality of his work exceeded all expectations. I’m used to multiple iterations with employees before they’re able to deliver the vision I had in mind. With Aditya what he delivered was typically a perfect representation of what I had imagined. His ability to grasp what I was seeking is phenomenal. This is all the more impressive given the context: Aditya was in only the first year of his university (a year where due to the pandemic he was remote the entire time) and as I understand it this was his first formal job. Moreover, he often had little in the way of oversight or supervision – as a startup we don’t have the resources to offer that kind of structure yet. And even more astounding: when he began, he only had a base knowledge of Python, the coding language used for most of his projects. He taught himself using online resources the skills he needed to deliver our vision. He is an exceptional talent and I hope we have the opportunity to collaborate again in the near future."
