Samyak Science Society is a 501(3)(c) Nonprofit Organization aimed at inspiring youth in areas of STEAM, with a special focus in aiding underserved communities. We aim to spark curiosity through experiential learning and developing innovative approaches to teaching and awareness. Our current major project involves the development and free deployment of STEAMKits and workshops for underserved and urban middle and elementary school students. We also aim to work with schools and library services. Working on projects in the space of medical innovation, AI, NLP, imaging, and surgery.

Current research aims to improve prediction of lung cancer outcomes and progression for at-risk COPD patients using tumor mechanobiology and imaging through a deep-learning system. Our first abstract was selected for publication at the Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Conference 2020; I am the second author.Awarded BU's Distinguished Summer Research Fellowship ($10k stipend) to continue this research.Interested in solving medical problems using tools such as bioinformatics, image processing, and deep learning – especially in the area of cancer diagnostics.

Elected to serve as Vice-President of Advocacy for the College of Engineering for 2020-201. My role will focus on creating new opportunities for advocacy and better connecting engineers to their representatives. I plan to create a new town hall program, ballots, and other initiatives to ensure engineers are represented both in the Student Government and BU at large. Due to my role as Lead Senator for Engineering for the past three years, I will be helping to guide & mentor the new engineering senators.In the 2018-2019 year, I founded and now act as Committee Chair of the FEAST Standing Committee, which aims to improve dining sustainability through initiatives such as the FEAST Meal of the Month and 1 Week to Save the Earth Challenge. FEAST also aims to improve student connection with dining services, to serve as a voice for students, and to increase accountability. This will be my second year serving as FEAST Committee Chair and I am excited to grow our movement in collaboration with BU Dining Services, BU student orgs, and our passionate student body!My work as Committee Chair of FEAST resulted in my selection as a T-Mobile Changemaker and the 1 Week to Save the Earth Challenge was recently selected as a top 30 finalist in 2019. This honor has allowed us to receive mentorship and financial support from T-Mobile to help our movement grow.

Ever since I was elected as an Engineering Senator three years ago, I have worked to represent the interests of students in the College of Engineering in the Senate. I helped to create Town Halls where students can share their concerns. I participate in the College of Engineering Government to serve as a connection to Student Government. I meet with the Dean of Engineering to help represent my constituents.Initiatives I have sponsored include the Water Quality Act, FAIR Health Act, BU SAFE Act, the BU Give Blood Ad-Hoc (BAC) Act, and the FEAST Act. I have also cosponsored and participated in the execution of other legislation in my time as a senator, especially in the areas of climate change activism and health policy.I am an avid supporter of initiatives such as the BU Bold Climate Act Support, Menstrual Health Product Initiative, SAO reform, technology and health improvement, and others. In my final year in Senate I was nominated by my fellow Student Government as "Most Active Senator." The most rewarding part of my experience in the BU Student Government has been the many many conversations I get to have with my fellow students!I created the XKCD Political Party as a broad coalition of STEM students at BU. Our party was focused on solving problems and as such cosponsored a vast amount of initiatives in the BU Senate. In our first year, we captured 20% of the seats in the at-large Senate. This year, we expanded our outreach, campaigned hard, and increased our representation to 25% of the vote! We aim to focus on health related issues at BU this year, being cognizant of the global pandemic students had gone through and focusing on rebuilding a stronger BU together!

I manage my Department and help create initiatives and policy to improve the academic life and wellbeing of students on campus.Current novel projects under my leadership include the Academic Grant Competition, the Academic AMA Seminar Program, and the General Review of Student Academic Development and Environment (GRADE) Report. It is my first year as Director of Academic Affairs.The BU Student Government is responsible for the continued improvement of life for all 18000+ undergraduate students.

Volunteered as a Sophomore Mentor my junior year to give back and support my peer community. Was selected as the Sophomore Advisor Coordinator (SAC) in my senior year to grow the Sophomore mentorship program. The SAC serves as the coordinator/liaison/resource for all the Sophomore Mentors. The SAC will provide information about campus-wide resources, coordinate the logistics of specific events and be the first line of support of the other mentors. The SAC will also serve as a liaison between the other mentors and the 1 Sophomore counselor, when appropriate.

I write articles for the Features section of The Daily Free Press with the goal of showcasing new points of view and leading ideas primarily in the fields of Community and Science. I love interviewing passionate people, putting together a piece from different sources, and finding and expressing themes through journalism.I aim to draw on interviews, my experiences and expertise, and evidence to create new, impactful views and spark conversations.I believe in the importance and power of writing in its abilities to promote awareness, education, and democratize the country. I hope to continue to develop my skills and passion!

Currently under the Department of Radiation Medicine.Have published four publications, two as a first-author, in the reputed Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Lung Cancer Journal and others. Have presented research at The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 58th Annual Conference as well as OHSU Research Week and the Annual Radiation Medicine Retreat.Most recent work was regarding quantifying the tumor mutational burden and its predictive capability for immunotherapy response. Received honors at Intel ISEF for this work.

eMDream is a small medical company with a mission of saving lives all around the world. We have developed a simple, low-cost test for detecting signs of heart disease using only a saliva sample. By integrating our DreamKit into the health care check-up system, we can catch at-risk patients and stop heart-disease-related deaths.Most recently, we have won second place at the TYE Global Competition! It was a wonderful experience, we have made connections and gained funding that will help us turn our startup into a successful business!As CFO, I take a major role in pitching and presenting the company to potential investors, as well as develop revenue and market models and long-term financial planning to reach our goals as a company.
