My primary area of focus was the Private Equity transactions undertaken by ICICI Venture across various sectors such as Healthcare, Insurance, Food and Beverages, Specialty Chemicals, among others. The role centred around structuring investment entities and assisting the commercial teams with all aspects associated with raising funds and executing investments and divestments through these entities. This primarily consisted of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating deal documents, conducting due diligence on prospective investments, and advising the fund-raising teams with fund set up, registration, regulatory approvals, and investor documentation. Additionally, I was involved in negotiations with both international and domestic investors throughout various stages of investment, divestment and fund raising.

My primary responsibility at MKC & Associates was to advise clients on various intellectual property (IP) and media related issues. I was a part of the transactional team in the firm and regularly conducted IP audits for various clients. Besides handling trade mark, copyright and industrial design prosecution, I was instrumental in structuring, drafting and negotiating a variety of complex licensing and assignment transactions. Owing in part to my strategic bent of mind, I was tasked with coming up with strategies for enforcement of Intellectual Property. I also represented the firm in a number of industry conferences and contributed towards building the firm’s client base.

At Piramal Enterprises Limited (PEL), I drafted various commercial agreements for the Pharma Solutions Division (Contract Development and Manufacturing business), Critcal Care Division (Anaesthetics) and the Consumer Products Division (Over the Counter products) of PEL. I advised the Consumer Products Division on various regulatory requirements relating to packaging and labelling of the products as well as compliance issues relating to the print and television advertisements and other promotional offers for marketing the said products.I managed the Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio of PEL across multiple jurisdictions and handled litigation matters relating to PEL by coming up with effective strategies in consultation with legal counsels to deal with them.As part of the M&A team I conducted due diligence of companies for the purpose of business and brand acquisition, strategic alliances and other similar transactions.
