I adapted an existing model to handle more types of climates and run faster, optimized its workflow to reduce overhead, and created an automated pipeline to run tens of thousands of simulations and create synthetic observables to guide the work of other astronomers seeking to discover habitable planets. My work represented a 1000x-fold increase in the scale of climate model experiments used in my field, and permitted a new type of survey science to extract statistical trends and uncover new physics.
