As Associate General Secretary for Communications & Information Technology, Adlai Amor leads FCNL’s award-winning communications team to build its presence in all media and IT platforms, oversee the organization’s marketing, and provide a strategic direction for all communications and IT. Adlai earned an M.S. from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, New York City, and a Bachelor of Journalism from Silliman University, Philippines (magna cum laude). He has extensive experience in development, science, environmental journalism, and the intersection of faith and politics. He has strong skills in strategic communications, integrating traditional and digital media, brand management, social media, advocacy, marketing, media relations, and journalism.At FCNL, he initiates and directs projects to gain more media attention and digital marketing campaigns to introduce FCNL to new audiences. Before FCNL, Adlai directed Bread for the World’s communications and marketing team. He led the transformation of Bread from a legacy advocacy organization into a digital one. Under his leadership, it won several DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards (Religion Communicators Council) and a Gold Pollie (American Association of Political Consultants).In the Philippines, Adlai worked as an editor ofDepthnews Asia, published a daily newspaper (NewsTime), and trained journalists in Asia and the Pacific. He led WWF’s Conservation News Service in Switzerland, before becoming the director of training at the International Center for Journalists in Washington, DC.Afterward, he also managed the communications departments of Greenpeace USA, the World Resources Institute, the Asian American Justice Center, and The Global Fund for Children. He has managed diverse teams of up to 26 people.Adlai is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a former chair of the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation and a trustee of the San Francisco Theological Seminary. Adlai is fluent in three languages.
