Director of Corporate Sustainability in Jacobs’ Office of Global Climate Response & ESG, a small corporate team tasked with developing and implementing Jacobs’ global company strategy and action plans related to sustainability and climate change. In my role I lead strategy development and the tactical implementation of action plans, initiatives and business KPIs covering the full spectrum of sustainability/ESG, propelling Jacobs to be a recognised global sustainability leader in its field.

Focussing on establishing synergies on strategic direction and business outcomes between our sustainability and innovation cultures, and identifying ways to for these shared outcomes to grow our business.Adam works across the global organisation and is leading on driving best practice in sustainability and building sustainable initiatives into major pursuits and program delivery, inter-office culture, and through global partnerships that accelerate action that contributes towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Leading the development of sustainability strategically for Jacobs global business. Part of a small corporate team, we worked with each of our stakeholder groups including employees, clients, supply chain and investors to conduct an in-depth materiality assessment that ultimately led to the development of PlanBeyond, Jacobs global sustainability strategy. The 12 goals that underpin the strategy are the first suite of corporate targets adopted globally by Jacobs and are the foundation for taking the company in a new direction on sustainability.

Project Manager and circular economy specialist at Jacobs UK Ltd. Responsible for technical consultancy and project management in the fields of waste management and resource efficiency covering key sectors including construction and energy, and project delivery across the unit and other parts of Jacobs business.Previous experience includes:- Project Manager for DfT Airports Commission; providing independent environmental assessment of scheme proposals to expand airport capacity in the UK;- Project Manager for Transport Scotland's Low Emission Zone Framework;- Technical Lead for waste strategy development for construction of new Industrial Cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;- Technical Lead for Circular Economy oil & gas decommissioning project delivered in conjunction by Zero Waste Scotland and Decom North Sea.- Project Engineering Manager in Scottish Water Solutions for a £16m portfolio of dams and reservoirs construction projects. Other recent project management and technical consultancy has involved permitting of anaerobic digestion treatment processes, local authority (England and Scotland) waste strategy development, PFI contracts, consultancy support for European Commission projects into shipments of waste, development of regulatory guidance documents for both the Environment Agency and Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and waste flow modelling and waste analysis.

Team leader in SEPA’s Data Unit, daily responsibilities include collation and publication ofScottish environmental data. Day to day line management of five Scientists and fourAssistants. Main achievements include wholesale national review of SEPA practices ofcollecting data from all regulated industry operators; successful coordinationand management of projects with partner organisations including Zero Waste Scotland and private consultants; successful recruitment and growth of the Unit.

Regulation of hazardous waste, all aspects of producer responsibility and international shipments of waste. I have managed repatriations of illegal shipments of waste; joint agency operations including coordination of simultaneous port inspections around Scotland, England and the Netherlands; joint enforcement activity with various Scottish Police constabularies; and industry level projects into the quality of waste exports from Scotland.Project management experience on an EU-wide level, co-ordinating SEPA's lead of the most recent phase of the IMPEL-TFS Enforcement Actions programme - the largest European environmental project.

Experience and application of requirements of Hazardous Waste Regulations, RIDDOR procedures, COSHH assessments, development and application of on site H&S procedures and incident reporting channels.

Hazardous waste chemist - oil & gas, manufacturing industries. Analysis and treatment of hazardous waste both on site and through transfer to various materials treatment sites around the United Kingdom. On site treatment included neutralisation of acids and caustics through treatment plant. Other daily duties including sampling of bulk loads prior to discharge, borehole monitoring, and liason with regulatory bodies such as SEPA.

Self-employed business, selling rare and first edition books online. Initially a hobby, the venture grew in scale to a full time business.

Administration of winding-up final salary pensions schemes. Assessing scheme solvency positions, and distributing assets in line with legislation and Trustees' instructions.
