Being Quantity Surveyor for the past 3 years to Project Management(currently for 3 years too) is an unexpected and exciting huge leap in my entire career. As a person who loves better opportunities and working outside the comfort zone, I didn’t hesitate to accept a position as Project Manager. I believe self-learning, self-development, and determination are important in self-betterment.My contract management knowledge while working as a Quantity Surveyor in the past helps me a lot while handling a project from execution until handover. Especially in building my own Bill of Quantities (BQ), doing pre/post costing and final account. I have good interpersonal and communication skills where I find it easy for me to kick-off projects with an existing or new client as people find me very approachable and comfortable to be around.I am very passionate about my work as it challenges me and drives me to be the best. I am a good team player as from my experiences, I see that every successful project is always determined by good teamwork in a company. One of my proudest personal accomplishments was to be given an opportunity to worked with Vanke Co Ltd, China’s second-largest developer. This project tested my skills, both in contractual and project management knowledge. Although we faced some hiccups, we managed to pull through and was given good credit by the client. This was by far the most challenging project that I ever handled. It gave me a self-satisfaction seeing this project featured inside The Star, Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC) and also The Edge. When I am not on duty, I love to watch Netflix, travel and hitting the gym. Fitness has been so important to me as it helps me to manage my anxiety and channel my stress in a good way. For me learning to balance work and life are important as it has a big impact on mental health and well-being. Thus, leaving me energetic to face the day ahead.
