Christian is a Founding Attorney at Waugh PLLC, whose primary office is currently located in Orlando, with satellite offices in The Villages, Miami, and Dallas. His work focuses on Corporate, Litigation, Real Estate, and Appellate practice areas. Christian and Waugh PLLC are able to take any client from the development of a transaction (contracts, POAs, interlocal agreements, large-scale commercial closings) through its tax consequences and into any litigation or related representation that may be necessary, whether in state, federal, trial, or appellate court. From 2022 through 2023, he was lead trial counsel in a major copyright infringement lawsuit that settled with the entry of a stipulated permanent injunction against a defendant in federal court. Also, in October 2021, Christian prevailed in a high-publicity election fraud trial overturning an election result in Eatonville, Florida. Currently, Christian is the Town Attorney for Hilliard, Florida and Pierson, Florida as well as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Law School. He is a special counsel to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, an Assistant Town Attorney for Callahan, Fla., and the Special Master for Code Enforcement in Citrus County, Fla. He has assisted St. John’s County, Fla. on two major FEMA beach renourishment projects.Christian is the current Chair of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC). He was Vice-Chair of the JNC from 2023-24. Prior to that, Governor Scott appointed him to the Fifth Judicial Circuit JNC where he also served as Vice-Chair from 2013-16. He is a member of the Dade County and Federal Bar Associations, as well as the Cuban American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, the Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, and for Colorado, Maryland, New Mexico, and Nebraska, as well as the Fourth, Seventh, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals and United States Supreme Court.Christian has published articles on civil procedure and law and economics and is currently working on a general treatise of law.In addition to professional interests, Christian enjoys horseback riding, piloting, sailing, swimming, writing, and his Greek Orthodox Church. He has an amazing wife, Mirella, and two awesome children, Ariadne and Kieran.
